FHRAI’s comment_relaxation in guidelines for international arrivals

11/02/2022

“FHRAI welcomes the recent relaxation in guidelines for international arrivals. Eliminating the need for inbound international travellers to furnish the mandatory RT-PCR test when fully vaccinated, will not only simplify the process but in a way, it will also encourage fence-sitters to act on their travel plans to India. We are hopeful that this move will soon be followed by the reopening of India’s borders to tourists allowing all inbound and outbound commercial flights to operate at full capacity. The industry also requests that the Government extends free e-visa for travellers for at least the next couple of years until inbound travel recovers. It is about time that the Government takes a proactive approach in encouraging tourists to travel to India through high-decibel marketing campaigns. The Government has to ramp up its efforts if it needs India’s tourism and hospitality industry to survive,”

Mr Pradeep Shetty, Jt Hon Sec, Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI).
