20 May 2023, New Delhi: The Chambers, India’s very first exclusive business club, hosted a Rendezvous withaward-winning novelist and poet Vikram Sethto celebrate the 30th anniversary of his remarkable literary masterpiece, A Suitable Boy.The celebration was held at LongChamp, Taj Mahal, New Delhi in association with HSBC, Speaking Tiger Books, and A Suitable Agency.
The gorgeous 3-volume collector’s box set of A Suitable Boy was unveiled by Mr. Satyajeet Krishnan - Area Director and GM, Taj Mahal, New Delhi; Arkaparva Ray, SPV & Head of Brand Partnerships – HSBC; Nikhil Singhal, Head of Private Client Services – HSBC; Ravi Singh, Publisher & Co-founder, Speaking Tiger Books; Hemali Sodhi, Founder, A Suitable Agency; Shoma Chaudhury, Journalist and Founder of Lucid Lines; and the author.
The evening showcased a fascinating reading by Vikram Seth, followed by a candid conversation between Seth and Shoma Chaudhury. The discussion explored themes such as love, politics, tradition, and the complexities of India as depicted in the novel. The guests were treated to a selection of fine drinks and delights curated by Chef Arun Sundararaj, Director of Culinary Operations – Taj Mahal, New Delhi.

The event was a fitting tribute to one of the most beloved works of modern literature. First published in 1993, A Suitable Boy has sold millions of copies worldwide and continues to be loved.
