Ajit Balgi of The Happy High Mumbai is Sommelier of the year

Ajit Balgi a Certified wine educator and the only Cognac Educator in India was conferred the “Sommelier of the Year” award at a glitzy award ceremony on 23rd May at the Leela Ambience Convention Hotel Delhi

Mumbai, India:  Ajit Balgi, Founder of The Happy High a wine & spirit consultancy and education was awarded “Sommelier of the Year” titles at the Food Connoisseurs India Convention (FCIC) award held on the 23rd of May at the Leela Ambience Convention Hotel, Delhi.

Ajit Balgi who is actively working in wines since 2008 has been teaching the WSET (London) courses in India starting 2010 and currently does consumer tastings, wine programs for hotels, wine menu consulting etc at The Happy High.  He said “Awards are rewards for all the work we are doing and a push for us to up the game each time. I hope to keep enhancing our work in education and consulting so that wine experiences in India keep getting better.”

FCIC organized by Industry Live in its second edition saw Dr Pushpesh Pant, Academician and Historian as the key speaker for the awards and the awards jury included restaurateur Zorawar Kalra, Master Chef Judge Koushik S, Chefs Kunal Kapoor, Abhijit Saha and Saby and Critic Ameeta Agnihotri.
