New Delhi, 18th March 2024: Ambassador, New Delhi – IHCL SeleQtions and Gallery Ragini presented Hathkarga 2024. Hathkarga is an exhibit celebrating the diversity of India’s rich textile heritage and the incredible origins of the country’s handcrafted textiles.

A display of handloom saris and textiles from across the country, accompanied by images of travels to various craft clusters was displayed at the hotel’s iconic Dome. With Hathkarga, Ambassador, New Delhi – IHCL SeleQtions and Nidhi Jain endeavour to bring forth the textiles from diverse regions of India crafts indigenous to the region to guests and patrons.

To further the conversation on handloom in the contemporary Indian context, Nidhi Jain moderated a panel discussion on “Introduction of contemporary elements and design in traditional Indian weaves, and the way forward for Indian weavers”

The exhibit was supported by a selection of indigenous artwork and photographs by A K Jha, Anil Khakhoriya, Dhavat Singh, Jatin Singh, Javed and Salim Khan, K M Singh, P Swami, Prakash Chnadra, Ram Rajys Singh, Sanjay Das, Saroj, and Shoba Jolly. The exhibition opened with lighting the ceremonial lamp at by the guests of honour like Kaushalya Reddy, Minu Bakshi, Rana Safvi, Reshma Punj, Sushma Bahl, and Swapna Liddle; followed by a walk through the textile and the art with Nidhi and Ragini Jain.
