Andaz Delhi Appoints Vimal Verma as Director of Operations
New Delhi, February 13, 2019, Mr. Vimal Verma has been promoted to Director of Operations at Andaz Delhi from his previous role as Director of F&B. In his new role Vimal will primarily be responsible for the operational department of the hotel. He will oversee operations for Food & beverage, rooms division and more.
Vimal Verma embarked upon his hotelier adventure as a Corporate Trainee for Hyatt Hotels Corporation. Fast-forward 12 years he became the Director of Food and Beverage at Andaz Delhi, a luxury lifestyle hotel by Hyatt, the first Andaz hotel in South West Asia before taking on his new role as Director of Operations.
Hailing from Himachal Pradesh, Vimal’s first step towards becoming an evolutionary F&B leader was at IHM Mumbai, from there began his journey filled with enriching experiences, iconic openings and legendary innovations.
He started his Hyatt journey at Hyatt Regency Delhi as a Corporate Leadership Trainee in 2006 from where his passion for innovation led him to Park Hyatt Chennai as a pre-opening Assistant Director F&B followed by launching of - The Flying Elephant – a game changer for the dining genre in India. He then moved to Pune with Hyatt and then Delhi called with the pre-opening assignment of the first Andaz Hotel in India – Andaz Delhi.
This biking enthusiast’s passion for mixology is reflected in the menu at the Juniper Bar at Andaz, for he is the mastermind behind many of the listed concoctions. It took one glass of quality gin at a bar in London to turn Vimal into “a gin convert with a new faith!” It was this episode that drove him to recreate the same experience for patrons of the Juniper Bar, with the aim to convert them into gin enthusiasts too.
The thought that keeps Vimal motivated to constantly produce products with character is – “What Got You Here Won't Get You There”
