The name “Vasse Felix” pays homage to the curious tale of Thomas Timothèe Vasse, an intriguing figure from maritime history. Inspired by optimism, founder Dr. Tom Cullity chose “Felix,” meaning ‘lucky/happy’ in Latin, to symbolize hope and prosperity for the vineyard’s future.

The Peregrine Falcon Story:

The iconic Peregrine Falcon on the Vasse Felix label is a nod to the vineyard’s early struggles with bird damage. Though falconry attempted to protect the grapes, it proved unsuccessful, resulting in an endearing tale that has become part of Vasse Felix’s rich history.
