Awaken the artist within You: Moonshine Meadery launches a crowdsourcing initiative for the next label design of its upcoming Hibiscus Ginger Mead

23/06/2022

India-wide release, 23 June 2022: India’s first meadery – Moonshine Meadery, has announced the launch of a campaign to crowdsource the next label for its Hibiscus Ginger Mead. This move comes after the overwhelming success of its first crowdsourcing campaign in 2020 – which had brought together budding artists across the country and saw a whopping 500+ entries – for the label design of its Grilled Pineapple Mead.

The Hibiscus Ginger mead is Moonshine’s latest addition to its MeadLABs series which includes seasonal offerings like Hopped Mead, Salted Kokum Mead, Grilled Pineapple Mead, Guava Chilli Mead, Chocolate Orange Mead, Mango Chilli and Bourbon Oaked Apple Mead, amongst several other flavours.

The brand is calling out to the country’s pool of talented artists, designers, illustrators, and doodlers to create a label for this mead via this crowdsourcing campaign, also offering them a platform to showcase their art.

“Throughout our journey so far, we have had the chance to work with some pretty amazing artists for our labels and are super kicked to see what options come up for our latest offering, the Hibiscus Ginger mead.”

Rohan Rehani, Co-founder of Moonshine Meadery,

Moonshine’s previous labels have been designed by a diverse bunch of established and emerging artists. This mixed bag of creative talent includes Nikhil More (founder of Junglegym Studio), Anand Radhakrishnan (a well-noted graphic novel artist), Aniruddh Mehta (a visual artist who has worked on projects for projects like Sacred Games and Red Bull), Sachin Bhatt (an album art illustrator), Sagarika (an architect and a graphic designer), and illustrators Karan Kumar and Sneha Dasgupta.

Moonshine makes the world’s oldest alcohol, mead, by fermenting natural honey with various fruits and spices. Apart from the brand’s limited series/ seasonal meads (MeadLABS), its three flagship meads are Apple Cyder Mead, Traditional Mead and Coffee Mead which are available all year round.

Since its inception, the brand has been committed to reintroducing mead to the mainstream in a modern way that combines the age-old craft with new-age artistic sensibilities. In keeping with this, Moonshine – through the new crowdsourcing campaign – not only aims to encourage and provide a chance for emerging artists to showcase their art but also celebrate the boundless fresh talent that the country offers. About Moonshine Meadery

Established in 2018, Moonshine Meadery is India’s first meadery that brings back the ancient alcoholic beverage – Mead in refreshing modern avatars. Made by fermenting pure honey with various fruits and spices, Moonshine’s meads make for 100% natural, flavourful beverages.

Moonshine constantly innovates and experiments with a range of ingredients—like multifloral honey, orange blossom honey, coffee beans, guavas, apples, chillies, kaffir lime, and much more—to offer a diverse spread of fresh meads that suit different tastes. While Moonshine’s spectrum of flagship meads—Apple Cyder Mead, Traditional Mead and Coffee Mead—are available around the year, the brand also offers seasonal meads known as the MeadLABs. These include Salted Kokum Mead, Guava Chilli Mead, Chocolate Orange Mead, and Bourbon Oaked Apple Mead, amongst several others. In addition to meads, Moonshine Meadery has now also introduced The Moonshine Honey Project to offer customers honey in its purest form, sourced directly from beekeepers across the country. Slowly carving a niche for itself in the Indian and Asian alco-bev sector at large, Moonshine is currently available in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Assam, Rajasthan, Goa, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Silvassa.
