The culinary team of the hotel has created the historic Ram Mandir model by using about 6,000 Parle-G, Marie and Jim Jam biscuits
On this momentous day, as the sun rises over Ayodhya to witness the historic inauguration of the Ram Mandir, The Orchid Hotel Mumbai's culinary team have spun a tale of sweetness and nostalgia. In a heartwarming tribute, they've delicately crafted a mini model of the revered temple by using Parle-G, Marie, and Jim Jam biscuits. These cherished brands, akin to humble companions in every Indian household, transcend mere culinary delight; they symbolize the spirit of a growing India.
The reason why Parle-G, Marie, and Jim Jam biscuits have been used in the making of this miniature model of Ram Mandir is because they hold cherished memories for every Indian regardless of age or social status. The iconic biscuits represent a shared experience of growing up. Much like Parle-G, Vithal Kamat’s Idli is also symbolic of the growth from grassroots level - affordable for every Indian.
“We wanted this temple to symbolize the simplicity of our growth, yet keep the memories alive. Now that IRA by Orchid is opening in Ayodhya, this is a small gesture of our ethos of humble roots, strong ethos yet national aspirations while taking everyone along with us in our growth journey!”
Dr Vithal Venkatesh Kamat,
The Parle-G temple model is carefully put together by the talented team at The Orchid Hotel. About 6,000 biscuits are used to craft the temple which reflects the rich and complex history and devotion that led to the construction of the Ram Mandir.
These biscuits will later be distributed as prasad to the entire team at the hotel.
