Ayodhya, the next tourist destination

After the verdict of the Supreme Court on Ayodhya dispute, Ayodhya is expected to experience a massive increase in tourist footfall. The verdict has cleared the restriction on the construction of Ram Mandir on the disputed land. The authorities are expecting Ayodhya to become a popular tourist destination in the state.

The city already sees 3 million tourists every year. Out of this more than 7000 people are offering prayers at the temple. The district administration is expecting a rise in the number after the end of the dispute. District Magistrate Anuj Jha has stated that the city’s airstrip will also be turned into a fully developed airport with complete facilities.

He further said, “Ayodhya has good potential to become a big tourist spot… The district administration has already received a fund of about Rs 400 crore to develop the airport here. We are in the process of acquiring land for this purpose.”

The city is all set to see the start of Ram Nagri Project as well. Under it, a statue of Rama will be made which would approximately be 251 meters high. Rs 500 crore has already been sanctioned for it.
