Our PADI Gold Palm 5-star Diving Centre is a  gateway to some of the finest dive sites on the planet, with daytime or sunset excursions and even  some special trips to enjoy by night. From its strategic position away from the crowded atolls, it  provides a wealth of opportunities to dive among pristine reefs, along with night-time excursions,  sailing and fishing trips. All the dive points are near the island, so travel time is kept to a minimum.  Run by Alessia Pagani, an Italian expert in scuba diving and the seabeds of the Maldives, the center  has something for everyone, from beginners to experts – including some spectacular individual  experiences.  

Snorkelling for all levels and tastes  

• Snorkelling for Beginners: for anyone who has never donned a mask, flippers and mouthpiece.  An easy yet worthwhile experience in shallow water, suitable for all.  

• Snorkelling Adventures: two excursions a day from 9.30 to 12.30 on board a dhoni, the  traditional local boat, to visit two reefs on a quest for turtles, moray eels, butterfly fish and  Napoleonfish.

• Snorkeling at Sunset: an experience by torchlight as night falls to discover the wonderful  colours of the corals and the world of the Maldivian fish. 

Some of our unforgettable excursions:  

• Discovering Maldives: a tour of the nearby island to get to know the locals and their way of life.  The little tourist shops sell souvenirs for guests to take home.  

• Golden Sand bank: an excursion for a mix of snorkelling and relaxing on the soft sands that rise  from the crystalline waters not far from Maagau.  

• Dolphin Tour: a fantastic 2-hour boat tour to meet the dolphins, in the expert company of a  marine biologist.  

• Cruising under the Stars: a romantic boat trip for two to gaze at the stars while sipping Ferrari  bubbly and nibbling on some traditional Italian snacks. IPads will be provided, with apps to help  recognize the various constellations.  

• Sunset Cruise: set out at 6.30 pm on board a traditional Maldivian craft to enjoy an unforgettable  Aperitivo as the sun dips into the ocean.

From breakfast to after dinner, an array of food and drink to delight the most exclusive  international clientele, all in the Resort’s signature Italian style. A Pool Bar and three superb  restaurants serve gourmet dishes alongside a Healthy Menu of light, nutritious creations and a  Kids’ Menu crafted especially for younger guests. GUSTO. The Italian restaurant.  

Open from 8.30 to 10.30 pm, the Gusto restaurant offers a feast of authentic Italian cuisine, the  centerpiece of a stay with Baglioni Hotels. Gazing across the ocean, this is the ideal location for a  romantic dinner under the stars, with the seductive murmur of the waves in the background.  Italian culinary culture prizes wellness as well as flavor, and the à la carte menu is no exception,  offering traditional Mediterranean dishes with a contemporary twist and a scrupulous eye for the  ingredients. 

UMAMI. The Japanese restaurant.  

The gourmet culture of Japan is a perfect complement to the Baglioni Hotels style, as form and  substance come together in the Umami restaurant. The consummately crafted dishes marry a love  of design with a meticulous insistence on the finest-quality ingredients. In the evening, the Chefs  dazzle the guests with a prestigious à la carte dinner menu from 8.30 to 10.30.

TASTE. The international restaurant.  

The Taste restaurant presents its own blend of fine international cuisine at breakfast and dinner for  those with a spirit of culinary adventure. From 7.30 to 11.00, guests gather to begin the day with a  delicious continental and Asian buffet breakfast. And from 7.30 to 10.30 in the evening, the  restaurant offers a buffet dinner of Italian and Asian fusion cuisine featuring intriguing  combinations of selected wines.

POOL BAR 

The perfect place to luxuriate in after an energising freshwater swim. During the afternoon, from  12 noon until 4 pm, the bar offers a light selection of pasta, pizza and salads as well as dishes from  à la carte menu. 19.02 is aperitivo time with Ferrari Trento, as guests enjoy some tempting  appetizers with a glass of the Italian sparkling wine par excellence. Then a live music or traditional  dancing add to the experience of a truly special evening. 

The exclusive Baglioni Spa. Italian wellbeing, tropical luxury.  The Baglioni SPA is an Italian oasis deep in the heart of nature. With a unique design, the SPA  vaunts 4 rooms for individuals and couple treatments, a Yoga Pavilion for practicing yoga,  meditation and breathing and a fitness area, to keep fit during vacation. The cosmetics by INSìUM a 100% Italian brand, are vegan and certified cruelty-free by PETA  (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), the world’s largest animal-rights organization. The  Spa menu includes Thai and Balinese rituals, personalisable massages, and treatments to tone,  purify and rejuvenate the face and body or to strengthen hair stressed by sun and sea.  

For families, couples and friends  

Sharing is one of the most Italian of values. So the Baglioni Spa is also a place for guests to share  beauty and wellness experiences: in addition to individual treatments, the center also offers  treatments for two or for groups of up to four people. Group treatments last about 90 minutes  and are usually performed for two people at a time in a dedicated room that also offers a hydro  massage tub for guests to enjoy as they please. The treatments for two are aimed at friends,  relatives or couples, according to demand.  

Fabulous rituals for face and body  

The stresses and worries of everyday life also affect your appearance. Taking time to relax is a  virtue, one that Italy – the Bel Paese – has always held dear. 

Our face and body treatments are performed by experienced beauty consultants who expertly  combine specialist manual skill with high-quality branded products while putting guests at their  ease. The facial rituals offer lifting, anti-ageing, regenerating or anti-imperfection treatments, and  the body rituals provide remineralising, regenerating or detox effects.  

Made-to-measure massage  

The Baglioni Spa offers a wide array of massages lasting 60, 75 or 90 minutes, depending on the  areas treated. Guests can personalize their treatments and even enjoy them in their suite. The  types of massage available are: Thai, Balinese, hot stone and deep tissue. The Thai massage  involves compression and finger pressure and is an effective way to release muscular tension and  enhance flexibility. The Balinese massage combines vigorous movements and subtle manipulation  for a relaxing, regenerating effect. The hot-stone massage soothes and tones the body, while the  deep tissue massage boosts blood and lymph flow, removes toxins, eases stress and alleviates  aches and pains.

For us Italians, family always comes first, and children are its beating heart. Younger guests are  warmly welcome at the Baglioni Resort Maldives, with a Kids’ Club for youngsters aged 3 to 15  years boasting a packed programme of games, sports and educational activities.  

Activities for all  

The Kids’ Club runs different activities for different age groups. The youngest guests can take part in simple, fun games and events like the “Mini Olympics”, with running races and balloon releases,  “Kids dance”, with dances and little songs to sing and learn, and sandcastle-building competitions  to develop their imagination and dexterity. Not to mention treasure hunts, water games on the  beach, hands-on creative workshops and more besides. 

Games and sport for older kids  

Socializing is important when you’re growing up. Our games and sporting activities for older  children take this to heart, as any competition is always in a spirit of sharing and teamwork. We  organize a whole range of open-air activities from fun table-football and bowls tournaments to  water games, obstacle races on the beach and other events to make the most of the Resort’s  pristine natural setting and beautiful weather. 

Creative workshops  

Creativity is a fascinating world to discover. Our creative sessions give the children an opportunity  to express their talents, learn new things, and enjoy fresh experiences and perspectives. We hold  workshops exploring the use of colours by painting with poster paints, little experiments for them  to uncover the secrets of science for themselves, courses to make dolls, kites and mandalas, and  much more. 

From fun to wellbeing  

Besides all the entertaining things to do at Kids’ Club, the Baglioni Resort also gives younger guests  the time to relax in the Baglioni Spa. We offer massages specially developed for boys and girls aged  5 to 15 years, based on the finest natural ingredients and dedicated techniques. Feeling good means  eating well, too, so we take special care over their diet. The restaurants and bar offer tasty, healthy  Kids’ Menus, and there are even courses to teach them the importance of proper nutrition and why  they need to eat their vegetables
