The ban on food containers used to deliver packed foods will lead to massive loss for business and break supply chain in absence of any alternative available in market, said Indian Plast Pack Forum.
The forum urged state government to allow use of food containers as there is no other option with food joints to pack and give food as take away packets. The forum is contemplating on meeting Indore Municipal Commissioner and officials of Central Pollution Control Board with a list of suggestions on use of single-use plastic.
Indian Plast Pack Forum president Vrijesh Gandhi said, “The implementation has been delayed for a month but this has not solved the problem that still persists. The corporation is planning to ban food containers but if that is done how food will joints and take away services operate.”
The forum has said that use of steel utensils will be a big compromise with hygiene of consumers.
Indian Plast Pack Forum secretary Sachin Bansal said, “This is good that the ban will come in phased manner. We will discuss how to increase recycling, collection and disposal of single use plastic to aid industries and cooperate with administration.” TNN
