Big Bang Food Tech acquires  Puran Singh Ka Mashoor Vishal Dhaba

03/05/2022

New Delhi : Big Band Food Tech (BBFT), the food brand aggregator has acquired Puran Singh Ka Mashoor Vishal Dhaba for an undisclosed sum of money. BBFT,as is its  mandate, will expand the legacy brand to new markets while retaining the  taste and authenticity of the food which the customers have come to associate with the brand  for the past 70 years.

The company plans to open 100 Puran Singh outlets by the end of March next year. Since the New Puran Singh outlets would come up both in urban centres as well as highways, the new outlets would support a more modern ambience, something that would appeal to the younger audience. The outlets would be in 2 formats- Take Away and Casual Dining. The Take Away would require space of about 250-300 sq ft and Casual Dining of about 700 sq ft. To maintain consistency in the food served across the outlets, a shared supply chain is being created in which Puran Singh’s family will continue to be personally involved.

“At BBFT, our sole objective is to identify the legacy brands which resonate with people of all ages, but for multiple reasons have not been able to expand and if the brand is not taken further, it may even get lost. Fitting perfectly in this vision is acquisition of Puran Singh Ka Mashoor Dhabha and we intend to give it a modern makeover by giving the brand benefit of shared supply chain and reliable logistics while maintaining the authenticity of the food it has served for ages “.

Co- Founder Manu Mohindra,

BBFT had recently acquired the famous Kathi Roll Brand 34 Chowringhee Lane and  is aggressively pursuing more such opportunities in this space. It has raised seed funding from Artha Venture Fund and other Angel investors such as Harsh Jain, Ashneer Grover, Chitra Radhakrishnan, Lakshmi Alagappan, Anand Kumar, and Nikhil Aggarwal.

The startup has built a backend technology to drive the business via data analytics, develop a more robust product portfolio and iron out the supply chain challenges.
