Originating in Yemen, the early settlers of the Bohri community landed on the coast of northern Gujarat from where they moved to Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata, and other parts of India
The cuisine of the community is as unique as some of their rituals. And to celebrate this, Hotel Royal Orchid has designed a special pop-up this Sunday to showcase some of the signature dishes
So, join us at this feast of a brunch in LimeLight to enjoy dishes like Kassak (whole wheat porridge made with mutton and pure ghee eaten with sourdough naan), Dabba Gosht (Mildly spiced mutton cooked with noodles and vegetables, topped with eggs and gratinated), Sarki (cold smoked soup made with lentils and curd and flavoured with fresh garlic), Gakhar Gosht – Mutton cooked with onions, curd and cashew nuts served with a double cooked paratha made with whole wheat and semolina, Fried Chicken (Twice Cooked chicken coated with semolina and deep fried), to name just a few dishes
Do make sure you start the meal with a "mithaas" to really do it the Bohri way!
