- The partnership between Boon and Oberoi Hotels aims to cut carbon emissions of more than 1500 kilograms
- The sustainable water practices are aimed through Boon’s revolutionary ZeroMileWater™Technology
India, August 2, 2023: Boon, the IoT-enabled global water-tech startup, is delighted to announce its strategic collaboration with the world-renowned Oberoi Hotels, as it bolsters its efforts to drive sustainable water practices and environmental conservation. The partnership aims to effectively deliver safe and clean drinking water by eliminating plastic and water wastage through Boon’s cutting-edge ZeroMileWater™ technology.
Zero Mile Initiative offers a safe and cost-effective circular system that purifies and packaged drinking water in eco-friendly glass bottles, actively combating the plastic bottle pollution crisis. Through this, hotels and other establishments can adopt a zero-mile delivery approach, eliminating the need to transport plastic bottled water over long distances and resulting in a significant reduction in harmful fossil fuel emissions.
The new collaboration between Boon and Oberoi will further those efforts by setting ambitious targets for environmental conservation. The partnership aspires to cut more than 1500 kg of carbon emissions, which is a significant step towards a greener future and a more sustainable world.
“We, at Boon, are always exploring newer ways to work towards sustainable water management, and our collaboration with Oberoi Hotels is another example of just that. Our revolutionary NetZeroWater™ technology aligns perfectly with Oberoi’s commitment to sustainable tourism and the fight against plastic wastage. “We truly feel that the new partnership has all the potential in the world to create a ripple effect and inspire other hospitality establishments to follow suit towards sustainability.”

A distinguished name across the world in the luxury hospitality industry, Oberoi Hotels has taken significant steps towards supporting sustainable tourism and reducing the carbon footprint to promote a positive environmental impact across the world. The hotel group replaces plastic by using cloth bags for newspaper and laundry, and by using business kits and greeting cards made out of recycled paper. Moreover, their cleaning agents and washing detergents are biodegradable, with the bathroom amenities made of natural, botanical extracts and Indian herbs. The hotels also conserve water through a rainwater harvesting system and a sophisticated Sewage Treatment Plant (STP).
Boon adopts a circular economy of glass water to monitor water quality and hydration delivery in sustainable glass bottles through AI and IoT, minimizing plastic wastage from hotel rooms and premises.
