Brigade REAP mentored Raho Hospitalities raises Seed Funding of ₹2,00,00,000 from Campus Fund

Bengaluru, 15 May 2024: Bengaluru based, Raho Hospitalities have raised a seed funding of ₹2,00,00,000 from Campus Fund. The Brigade REAP mentored company intends to use these funds to expand to an additional forty projects across India by early 2025. Raho Hospitalities is reshaping the travel landscape by offering well-designed, hospitable, and immersive travel experiences at affordable prices. Raho’s customer profiles are mainly millennials who could be either solo travellers, young couples, groups of friends, or young families seeking meaningful travel adventures. Raho is targeting a yearly revenue of Rs 380 Crores in the next five years.

“The investment in our company by Campus Fund is a shot in the arm for us and portrays the confidence that they have in us and in our business model. We strongly believe that this is a good and positive start, which will propel our aim of targeting 40 properties across the country by early 2025. We noticed a gap in the way millennials prefer to holiday and are striving to plug that gap through our unique offerings, tailormade specifically for them. Our groundwork showed that they demand travel options that resonate with their values and interests craving cultural immersion, genuine connections, and a deeper understanding of the locales they visit. We plan to meet this demand by focusing on improving supply in the often-overlooked property types including standalone units such as homestays, glamp- tents, and prefab units.  These well-crafted accommodations blended with seamless technology offering genuine hospitality provide for an excellent experience.” said Gautham Somana of Raho Hospitalities.

“Raho is a perfect example of the kind of Urban Tech startups we choose to mentor at Brigade REAP, ones that are disruptive, that are unique and have a clear business objective. We believe that this funding is only the beginning and there will be a lot more interest from investors going forward, given their business model and their target audience. We will continue to support them on their journey, and introduce them to different investors, industry leaders and like-minded individuals to enable them to refine their go-to-market strategy and grow their business.”

Abhay Garg, Head and Chief Mentor, Brigade REAP

With a successful debut project in Coorg and forty more on the horizon, Raho is not just riding the wave of the travel trend but is actively setting new standards. The company’s commitment to create unique stays, aesthetic design and personalized touch is its unique distinguishing factor in the highly competitive hospitality sector.

Raho was founded in June 2022 in Bengaluru by Sidharth Somana, Simona Mohan, and Gautham Somana with the intent of addressing the lack of quality stay options in standalone accommodations in non-urban locations such as Coorg, Ooty, and Gokarna. This young company is addressing the gap in the market by offering an alternative to urban millennials seeking meaningful travel experiences. Targeting the demographic of 25-40 yrs old, focused on couples and young families, Raho caters to the growing middle-income group in India, characterized by increased disposable income and a desire for memorable vacations. Raho has been mentored by entrepreneurs in residence at MIT's Sandbox and Harvard's Innovation Lab, and Brigade Reap to discover and refine market-product fit, business model, and operations. The goal is to create amazing experiences for guests across the country by standardizing accommodations and services and marrying them with unforgettable hospitality.
