Celebrate #10 Years Of AER at Four Seasons Hotel Mumbai, December 9 - 14, 2019

As the city’s award-winning rooftop AER – Bar and Lounge turns 10, guests can enjoy special signature cocktails and a week of celebrations

09 December 2019: December 2019 marks the 10^th anniversary of AER – Bar and Lounge, one of the city’s most beloved rooftop venues. To celebrate, the team at the Four Seasons Hotel has planned a week of exciting events and special menus, to pay homage to this milestone birthday.  

A drinks menu of Bar10der Specials offers cocktails that have featured on AER’s menus over the years, from launch to date. Horizon (2009-2010) was the bar’s very first cocktail from the original menu, created by master mixologists Raj Khan Pathan and Devang Devsaria, who led the opening of Aer 10 years ago. The cocktail is a delightful blend of Ciroc vodka, infused with coconut syrup, curry leaves, lime and coconut water. This drink marked the beginning of sundowners at Aer.

Afterglow (2011-2012) was developed for the Diageo World Class Cocktail Competition by then-bartender Deepak Shettigar, who is now the hotel’s Beverage Manager. The drink was inspired by the stunning sunsets seen from AER. It’s a smooth mix of Tanqueray No. 10, red grapes, coriander and cucumber.

The AB Cocktail (2013-2014) was another cocktail entered into the Diageo World Class Cocktail Competition by mixologist Varun Sudhakar. Paying homage to the great Amitabh Bachchan himself, this spirit-forward libation is a mix of Johnnie Walker Gold Label, Darjeeling tea reduction, cinnamon and lime.

One of AER’s most popular cocktails to date, the Mumbai Sour (2016-2017) was created by Ashish Sharma, then Head Bartender at the Four Seasons Hotel Mumbai. This drink marked the reinvention of the cocktail culture at AER, resulting in a marked shift to presenting classics with a twist, and a focus on cutting-edge techniques. The drink, which features a reproduction of the iconic Gateway of India on it, is made with Johnnie Walker Gold Label, mulled wine and lavender maple syrup.

In 2019, the B-Fashioned was born, crafted by Philip Bischoff – Four Seasons’ Beverage Ambassador for Asia-Pacific, to mark the bar’s return to the nightlife circuit after a year-long hiatus. The cocktail is a twist on the Old Fashioned and celebrates the spirit-forward energy of the bar. The combination of Singleton of Glendullan 12 years, salted banana syrup and bitters lends the drink a laid-back, tropical feel. It’s been a sun-downer favourite, ever since its inception.

AER is also launching a brand-new, signature cocktail during its anniversary week, to commemorate the occasion. Limitless celebrates a decade of the AER team mixing drinks and creating memories for its patrons. The cocktail features Nitro-infused Ciroc vodka with mango, ginger and basil leaf, tonic water, dry vermouth syrup and basil salt.

The Bar10der Specials cocktail menu will be available for one week only, from December 9-14, 2019.

Beyond the spectacular views, superb cocktails, and glamorous vibe that AER brought to the city a decade ago, it also made a name for itself with the variety of events, live acts and performances that it has offered patrons, year after year. Anniversary week will be no different, with five nights of exciting programming lined up for guests. The celebrations include:
