Chef Boo Kim, the Executive Chef at Dirty Buns and F&B Director at Aallia Hospitality, is pleased to announce the launch of Dirty Buns SOBO – the second outpost of the contemporary restaurant, which opened its flagship in Kamala Mills in June 2019.
After the success of Dirty Buns in Kamala Mills, Chef Boo and the team at Aallia Hospitality have now decided to venture further into South Mumbai with the SOBO launch, which will offer all the great flavours and good vibes from the original outpost but with a few changes. Patrons can expect a high-energy bar, sophisticated interiors, brand-new dishes and the same great service and hospitality.
Dirty Buns SOBO features classics from the original menu at Kamala Mills, with the addition of bowls, a raw bar and many more vegetarian and Jain options. Chef Boo is going to get down and dirty with some of his favourite flavours from back home in Chicago, perfectly blended with everything that he has discovered here in Mumbai.
Diners can begin their meal with Dirty Bites, which offers options like KFCauliflower, sesame soy, bok choy, kimchi, and scallions; Tomato Carpaccio, basil, lemon gremolata, balsamic, burrata crème; Chickpea Falafel, roasted cauliflower hummus, olives, stracciatella cheese, pickles, pita bread and lavash; Crispy Oat Prawns, chili, garlic, curry leaves and oats; and Snapper Carpaccio, cucumber, soy, chili, truffle oil.
Next, it’s time to Get Dirty, with heartier dishes like Mushroom Teriyaki, pickles, truffle aioli, teriyaki; Lobster, with warm garlic butter, giardiniera, crispy onion; Kung Pao Tofu, aioli, soy chili and peanuts; and Lamb Barbacoa, lime crema, pico de gallo, cilantro. All dishes can be accompanied by noodles, rice or mixed greens, or filled in a bao or roll. An order of sautéed market vegetables can also be added to the order.
For Dessert, diners can get creative and build their own cake, a brand-new and fun offering from Chef Boo. Patrons will first choose their base – a sponge in either vanilla, chocolate, or marble cake flavour. Following this, they will choose a mousse (vanilla, chocolate, blueberry or espresso); and up to four garnishes, from options including caramel sauce, macerated blueberries, shortbread or cookie crumbs, and lemon curd.
To kick the party into higher gear, guests can enjoy Dirty Cocktails like Tequila Rose, tequila, watermelon juice and rosemary; Summer Love, tequila, ginger juice, kaffir lime and chili; Vodka Yuzu, vodka, coriander, yuzu puree, apple juice, lime juice, white wine and soda; and the Dirty Margarita, tequila, jalapeno, tamarind and agave. A range of classic cocktails, mocktails, and other alcohol is also available.
The interiors are eclectic and take inspiration from Mumbai’s Art Deco heritage, dive bars from Brooklyn, neon lit clubs from London and a little something something that has origins only in the imagination.
Weekends at Dirty Buns SOBO will feature old school hip-hop flying off the decks, mood lighting and dirty cocktails to keep guests going all night.
