CHENNAI (April 3, 2023) – Hyatt Regency Chennai, brings to you a special China Town festival featuring Hakka Cuisine in collaboration with MasterChef, Walter Chung. This 10- day-long festival will be held at Stix – the Chinese restaurant at Hyatt Regency Chennai.
Belonging to the third generation of the Hakka Chinese community in India, Chef Chung has studied the intricacies of Hakka Chinese food and its contribution to the larger food scene in the country. A connoisseur of food, he would often assist his uncles as a young boy and learn the nitty-gritty of the art of traditional Hakka Chinese cooking. This inspired him to further expand his expertise in the field.
The Festival will showcase the best of Chinatown cuisine, curated by Chef Chung that features traditional Hakka dishes such as Khyuk Soup, Hakka Roast Chicken, Eight Jewel Bowl, Mun Tzu Nyuk, Mun Fan, Yam Mien, Darsan and many more.
"We are thrilled to bring China Town to Hyatt Regency Chennai," "A well-known Chinese ethnic enclave dotted across all the major cities of the world, famous for its legacy of good food and culture”.
Manish Uniyal, Executive Chef at Hyatt Regency Chennai.
