In a culinary tale that began over a family friends' dinner, Surabhi and Sam, two passionate individuals with diverse backgrounds, embarked on a flavorful journey that has now become synonymous with authentic North Indian cuisine. Their brainchild, Desi Dakaar, has not only carved a niche for itself in the heart of Noida but has also expanded its presence across five cities in the Delhi-NCR region.
Surabhi, having bid farewell to her corporate stint in the IT world, nurtured a burning desire to create something uniquely her own. Sam, with a rich hospitality background, notably with Oberoi, ventured into the food industry with "Sizzle on Wheels," a food truck specializing in tandoor and North Indian delicacies, recognizing the gap in the market for such offerings in the city.
From the success of their food truck, they ventured into the virtual realm with a cloud kitchen named "Rotees and More." In the absence of platforms like Zomato or Swiggy, Surabhi and Sam mastered the art of not only preparing delectable dishes but also ensuring impeccable deliverables.
After six years of relentless dedication and culinary innovation, Desi Dakaar emerged as a cloud kitchen operating in five key cities – Delhi, Noida, Gurgaon, Ghaziabad, and Faridabad. The year 2020 posed unprecedented challenges with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. While kitchens across the country closed their doors, Desi Dakaar Noida stood resilient, gaining recognition for its mainstream presence and unwavering commitment to hygiene practices.
As the pandemic subsided, Desi Dakaar responded to the resurging demand for social gatherings, parties, and dining experiences. Seizing the opportunity, they introduced "Desi Dakaar Dine-In," providing patrons with a welcoming space to savor the true essence of North Indian cuisine.
Looking ahead, Surabhi and Sam envision a nationwide expansion of Desi Dakaar, with plans to introduce franchise opportunities throughout India. Their mission is simple yet profound – to make India relish the authentic flavors of North Indian food, offering a gastronomic experience that resonates with the rich culinary heritage of the region.
