As the nation revels in the spirit of patriotism this Republic Day, feast your palate with the regional delicacies at Edesia, Crowne Plaza Today New Delhi Okhla. From the spiciest and richest dishes to the most humble preparations, every state has something different to offer. The highlight of the buffet would be the luxuriant Dal Raisina, an in-house culinary innovation at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
According to Mr. Sumit Sinha, Director of Food & Beverage, Crowne Plaza Today New Delhi Okhla, “ Dal Raisina is a unique dish made from the combination of black lentils (urad dal) and tomato puree & flavoured with saffron. This dish takes almost 48 hours to cook. The secret ingredient of the dal is believed to be Kasuri methi leaves which along with ‘garam masala’ gives the humble dal a distinct flavour. It has a very velvety texture and mild flavour and finds an indispensable place in all official functions hosted by the president. Our culinary team will attempt to recreate the same magic for our patrons this Republic Day!
