Discover Bergamo: a Heavenly Mediterranean Paradise

February 2024, New Delhi: Housing the magic and beauty of Italy, Bergamo, an exquisite eatery is situated in the heart of New Delhi, Vasant Kunj, offering a sense of sophistication and exclusivity. The restaurant is immersed in fine delicacies engulfed in a modern interpretation of mediaeval architecture. A palatable paradise, Bergamo, is inspired by its namesake Italian city and acts as the ideal location to enjoy a mix of Mediterranean delicacies and authentic European food.

Bergamo is the brainchild of the multifaceted entrepreneur Kunal Chabbra. An alumnus of the British University in Dubai. Kunal is based in the UAE and harbours interests in multiple industries, namely real estate, tourism, and now hospitality.

Bergamo’s menu consists of fabulous delicacies developed by Chef Engin ULUC, who has extensive experience in Italian, French, and Turkish cuisines. The chef seeks to provide comfort to patrons through food that is authentic yet reminiscent of a meal prepared by one’s mother, evoking fond memories of dining with your family. Chef Engin has also taken a keen interest in pairing different wines that would go perfectly with certain dishes from the menu. The finely curated food menu transports the guests to the heart of an enchanting mediaeval atmosphere. One of the dishes in the menu includes a Spanish starter, Patatas Bravas, which is prepared with special spices, french cream sauce, chicken and fish, and an Italian favourite, Risotto, that can be cooked in the choice of protein. 

The cocktail menu is just as remarkable, prepared by Mr. Ulas, the chief mixologist. He’s put together a one-of-a-kind menu that is meticulously prepared to meet the needs of the patrons. With syrups and purées prepared with fresh seasonal fruits, all cocktails are made keeping in mind the Indian palette. 

The ambiance of the space envelopes its guests with warmth and comfort. The interior of the restaurant reflects the inherent beauty of the city of Bergamo, renowned for its frescoes and sculptures imitating the shapes of nature. A metallic grey textured wall covered with mirrors, some of which extend to the ceiling lends an opulent and luxurious aura to the space. The property’s exterior features a magnificent stone wall façade that is rich and bold and instantly leaves you with a feeling of welcomeness. The entryway boasts a CNC-cut design of the club’s mascot, a majestic peacock. The fencing of the space is constructed using rice husk sheets with black and white chip flooring. 

The environment created is both functional and memorable and the property opens its doors at 12 noon and continues till the wee hours of the night, holding up to 150 people!
