Delhi, April 2021: Pitaara Kitchen is the latest entrant in the Indian food delivery scene in Delhi, celebrating truly inclusive ‘Indian’ cuisine and its delicious diversity. The brainchild of Chef Udit Maheshwari, the delivery kitchen aims at moving away from the usual brand of ‘Indian’ fare by exploring regional specialities and bringing it to the comforts of your home.
Chef Maheshwari and his team are constantly developing new flavours with underexplored ingredients, lost recipes and forgotten traditions. There is a special emphasis on using ingredients that are 100% locally grown & sourced from the distant corners of India, be it chocolate or cheese – everything is ‘Made in India’. Keeping a sustainable approach in mind, the packaging has been designed with zero plastic. Even the cutlery, made with sugarcane pulp, is sent only on request.
Chef Udit Maheshwari, Co-Founder/ Chef Owner, Pitaara Kitchen, “We are delighted to introduce ‘Pitaara Kitchen’ – a modern regional food delivery serving delightful Indian flavours to the comforts of your home. For the longest time regional and modern Indian food has been unapproachable and tucked away in the niche of fine dining, now the time has come to make it both palatable and accessible to everyone. Our menu has been curated after an in-depth study of the geography of our country, how our flavours and preparations vary so wildly from one end to the other. We want to popularise the beautiful cuisines of our country and introduce flavours that are familiar, yet appealing. We proudly call ourselves a brand that is vocal for local & environmentally friendly.”
The carefully curated menu comprises of a range of dishes that appeals to all age groups. Signature dishes like the Bandel Cheese Kulcha uses a crumbly, smoky cheese from an erstwhile Portuguese colony called Bandel near Kolkata. Other interesting dishes on the menu include Dogri Meat from the Dogri community of Jammu, Wild mushroom stew inspired from Syrian Christians of Kerala, Pulled Pork Samosa, Broccoli Makhani, Pahadi Chicken Curry, Recheado Potatoes and many more.
Popularising the lesser known grains - Ragi, Bajra or Samak/Barnyard Millet is a passion for Chef Maheshwari. To end your delectable meal on a sweet note, the dessert section has Salted Caramel Kheer made of Barnyard Millet and Salted Caramel Chocolate Tart with a Bajra shortcrust pastry. Even the baked section features exclusive dishes such as Calicut-style Ghee cake, Walnut Atta Biscuits and Parmesan Masala cookies using you guessed it - Indian made Parmesan.
Pitaara Kitchen’s aim is to provide a novel experience for people wanting to order-in genuine ‘Indian food.’
