Sorozai, the newest gem in Mumbai's culinary landscape, stands as a testament to the client's visionary design concept, meticulously executed by Design Konstruct. Nestled in Versova, Sorozai promises an authentic dining experience that seamlessly blends the client's creative vision with expert craftsmanship, inspired by the vibrant Goan culture. Each element within this culinary sanctuary is purposefully curated to offer patrons an immersive experience, rich in Goan vibes, cultural nuances, and aesthetic delights.



Aditi Malik, the owner of Sorozai, aimed to celebrate her Goan-Konkani heritage by infusing it into the concept of the establishment. She, along with her creative team crafted a brand idea intertwining food, family, Goan culture, and the essence of 'soro' (Konkani for alcohol). Drawing inspiration from Konkani music and culture, they created mascots "Chain" and "Bechain" to embody calmness and restlessness, engaging in profound conversations amidst the lively ambiance. Through meticulous experimentation, the team brought these mascots to life in a captivating 3D mural, now a popular selfie spot. Adding Konkani sayings to mirrors and doors, the ambiance prompts patrons to reflect on life's choices as they peruse the menu.

The concept was then created and handed over to Misbah Kapadia, principal designer at Design Konstruct who then with her expertise executed the project and created design nuances aligned with the concept and brief presented by the team at Sorozai.

Tranquil Outdoor Oasis:

Sorozai's outdoor space is an oasis of comfort and conviviality which offers a serene setting for guests to unwind in authentic Goan vibes and a touch of old vintage charm. A gracefully curved compound wall encloses the space, infusing it with character, in line with the vibrant spirit of Goan culture.

Artistry in Washrooms:

The Washroom design is a blend of artistry and functionality, drawing inspiration from Goan aesthetics. Arched doors adorned with stained glass and graffiti faces welcome guests into a space defined by half-height tiled walls and antique mirrors. The gothic ambiance is further accentuated by old-fashioned sanitary fittings, creating an immersive experience for patrons, as per the specifications, deeply influenced by Goan heritage.

A Culinary Journey:

As one enters Sorozai, they are greeted by a cabinet showcasing a curated selection of wine and beer bottles, accentuated by a Mangalore roof, reflecting the essence of Goan hospitality. The warm tones of Indian patent stone envelop the space, leading towards a kitchen window framed by red cemented columns. The juxtaposition of modern and traditional elements creates a unique ambiance, in accordance with the design concept, inspired by the culinary traditions of Goa.

Intimate Private Dining Area:

The Private Dining Area exudes an intimate charm, with arch windows adorned with curtains framing the space. An cemented bench seating arrangement offers comfort, while antique mirror paneling and rustic furnishings evoke a sense of nostalgia. Handi lights cast a warm glow, adding to the authenticity of the ambiance, deeply influenced by the warmth and hospitality of Goan culture.

Distinct Upper Floor Atmosphere:

Ascending to the upper floor, guests are enveloped in a distinct atmosphere, characterized by stone cladding and intricate design details, inspired by the coastal beauty of Goa. A 12-foot-long bar takes center stage, illuminated by indirect lighting and flanked by Portuguese printed tiles. Wooden cabinets provide ample storage space, while blackboards offer flexibility in menu presentation, aligning with the design concept, resonating with the laid-back charm of Goan beach shacks.

Design Elements:

Throughout Sorozai, design elements seamlessly blend tradition with modernity, as envisioned, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of Goa. From vintage hardware fittings to intricate Portuguese tiles, each detail has been thoughtfully curated to evoke a sense of nostalgia and authenticity. The use of natural materials such as wood and stone adds warmth and character to the space, inviting guests to linger and indulge in the culinary delights on offer, reminiscent of the flavors and aromas of Goan cuisine.
