The month of October marks the beginning of the upcoming festive season in India. Also known as Sharad Ritu as per the Hindu Calendar, the season brings with it warm winds along with festive cheer. On Sunday, October 20, 2019, book a seat at The Classroom by La Folie, where Amrita Kaur, an Ayurveda Nutrition Consultant, will be whipping up a seven-course Ayurvedic lunch, using the season’s finest ingredients.
According to Ayurvedic beliefs, when the monsoon is over, it leaves behind a lot of Pitta, or October heat. Amrita will be creating a menu of cooling foods, using seasonal ingredients such as Large Indian Cucumber, Singhada (Water Chestnuts), Seetaphal (Custard Apple) and Kashmiri Apples. OOO Farms will be supplying indigenous varieties of rice and grains from the Sahyadris, as well as wild greens and vegetables that many will never have heard of.
What’s more, Amrita will also be interpreting the way Sita, Ram and Laxman ate during the Vanvas – during their exile in the Ramayana – through the course of this meal.
Book your seats now, for this seven-course meal of super-cooling, pitta-pacifying foods, at this month’s Chef’s Table experience at The Classroom by La Folie.
The Ayurveda-based meal will be a lunch experience, beginning at 1:30 pm on Sunday, October 20, 2019. It will be priced at Rs. 2800 per head and tickets can be purchased through Instamojo (http://bit.ly/2ouEM3E )
