Sanjana Patel, the Co-Founder, Creative Director and Executive Chef at La Folie, recently launched the city’s first small-batch, Bean to Bar Chocolate Factory, cooking studio and Café, in Mahalaxmi.
A part of this new space is The Factory Café, a 20-seater venue with an appropriately industrial feel, like cement flooring and terrazzo in situ wall application, as well as furniture in rustic tones of brown.
Guests can enjoy Salads like the Quinoa Mezze Bowl, nachni chips, hummus, mixed quinoa, lettuce, olives and pickled roots; and Chicken Basilic, basil-marinated chicken breast, caramelized onions, olives, confit tomatoes, parmesan-sourdough croutons, mixed greens and house-made pesto dressing. Heartier dishes like Pastas offer options like Spicy Aglio Olio, spaghetti, confit tomatoes, and lemon chili garlic; and Fettucine Cacio e Pepe, with mushrooms, parmesan and truffle oil. All pastas can be made gluten-free.
Diners can choose from Tartines and Croissants like the Avo-wich Tartine, Haas avocado, mixed seeds, confit tomatoes and alfalfa sprouts; Caprese Croissant, basil pesto, warm burrata, confit tomatoes and balsamic dressing; and the Grilled Mediterranean Vegetables and Hummus Tartine, green harissa hummus, roasted Mediterranean vegetables and spiced sautéed onions.
Fresh Bakes like Pain au Chocolat; and Almond and Butter Croissants will satiate the sweet-toothed; as well as Single-Origin Brownie Bites (Guatemala beans with berries; Ecuador beans with hazelnuts; and Malabar Forest beans with sea salt); and a range of La Folie’s popular desserts like Kouign Amann, fresh mille fueille, tea cakes, healthy desserts, a range of flavoured hot chocolates, teas, coffees, and lots of chocolate for sampling.
