A Celebration of Cricket, Culture, and Social Change
New Delhi, February 22, 2025: The 3rd edition of the Restaurant Cricket League (RCL) concluded in spectacular fashion as Team Uttarakhand Gulthiya claimed the championship title, defeating Team Uttar Pradesh Kachoris in a thrilling final match at the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex, New Delhi. The high-intensity showdown, held before a packed stadium, was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Shri Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha, Saran, Bihar), and Smt. Smriti Irani, Former Cabinet Minister, Government of India, who applauded the league’s commitment to both sport and social impact.
A Nail-Biting Finish to a Spectacular Tournament
The final match was a true reflection of RCL’s spirit—competitive yet inspiring, engaging yet impactful. Uttarakhand Gulthiya showcased resilience and strategic gameplay, securing victory by just two wickets, making it one of the most gripping finales in the tournament’s history. Their triumph was met with roaring cheers from fans, marking the culmination of five days of exhilarating cricket action.
Cricket with a Cause: RCL’s Commitment to Ending Hunger
While the fierce competition on the field kept audiences on the edge of their seats, RCL 2025 proved to be much more than just a sporting event. Under its mission of “Serving Change, Delivering Impact, and Uniting Communities,” RCL continued its 100 Meals on Every 10 Runs campaign, ensuring that cricket became a catalyst for social good.
For every 10 runs scored, 300 meals were pledged during the final, adding to the tournament’s overall contribution of 2.3 lakh meals to underserved communities across India. This initiative, in collaboration with The Adi Bodh Foundation and leading food security organizations, aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goal 2: Zero Hunger by 2030, reinforcing RCL’s commitment to tackling food insecurity and reducing food waste.
"Congratulations to Team Uttarakhand Gulthiya for their outstanding performance! This tournament is a celebration of cricket and compassion. RCL and the ‘Hunger Free Bharat’ mission are setting an example for the world, proving that sports can drive real social impact," . "With every edition, RCL creates a lasting legacy, and we eagerly look forward to next year’s league, which promises to be bigger, better, and even more impactful."
