Tulip festival is an annual celebration that aims to showcase the range of flowers in the garden as a part of tourism efforts by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir. It is the time of the year when the beautiful Tulips of myriad colours are ready to bloom, offering a spectacular sight to behold. The blooming tulip flowers in Srinagar mark the beginning of the Spring season.
The Srinagar Tulip Garden Festival has begun from March 19th and will continue till the end of April. The festival is an annual tourism-centric event hosted at the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden. The largest tulip garden in Asia, it is spread over an area of about 30 hectares. The garden is built on a sloping ground in a terraced fashion consisting of seven terraces, at the foothills of Zabarwan Range, providing an overview of the Dal Lake.
