The blooming tulip flowers in Srinagar mark the beginning of the Spring season.

The Srinagar Tulip Garden Festival has begun from March 19^th and will continue till the end of April. The festival is an annual tourism-centric event hosted at the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden. The largest tulip garden in Asia, it is spread over an area of about 30 hectares. The garden is built on a sloping ground in a terraced fashion consisting of seven terraces, at the foothills of Zabarwan Range, providing an overview of the Dal Lake.
