The Cameo Kitchen has teamed up with Chef Anuradha Joshi Medhora of Charoli for a royal experience
#CameoKitchenxCharoli
As a gateway to the hidden gems in the world of food, FLEA Bazaar Cafe launched The Cameo Kitchen in September 2019. The Cameo Kitchen collaborates with chefs and restaurants from across India and the world, catering curated menus, immersive experiences, and dishes and drinks that are under explored. For its second edition, The Cameo Kitchen has teamed up with Chef Anuradha Joshi Medhora of Charoli to bring the royal cuisine of Indore’s Malwa rulers to Mumbai.
“There are unusual restaurants and lesser-known chefs across the country who are under-explored. Through The Cameo Kitchen concept at FLEA Bazaar Cafe, we are making these hidden gems and experiences accessible. This is also giving homegrown chefs a space to showcase authentic meals from their native land. After the success of the first edition with Meiphung Oriental - a rustic Naga kitchen from Goa helmed by Chef Livingstone Shaiza - our second edition features Chef Anuradha Joshi Medhora of Charoli, who is serving up royal Malwa cuisine, which is rich in flavour and an absolute feast for vegetarians and meat lovers alike. I personally enjoyed most of the dishes on the menu and I’m sure you will too,” says Riyaaz Amlani, MD & CEO of Impresario Handmade Restaurants.
“Charoli is stoked to be at The Cameo Kitchen at FLEA Bazaar Cafe! I am super excited to be at this fantastic food discovery destination and be part of a revolutionary food experiences company like Impresario. I'm very happy to be serving my kind of food to people here,” says Anuradha Joshi Medhora of Charoli.
Dig into the region’s popular appetizers like Chukander Ke Shikampuri, Hare Murg Ke Kebab, Goli Kebab and Shikampuri Kebabs. Try mains like Alu Ka Rajai Salan, slow-cooked on dum, which is a potato preparation perfect for the festive season and served with a basket of Ajwain Ke Parathe; Murge Ki Kadhi - a mildly spiced, smoked chicken recipe - travelled to Malwa with their princess who was married to a Maratha prince. The Santre Ka Maans is a tender, tangy mutton cooked using the freshest Nagpur winter oranges, and Shikari Maans, a classic game recipe cooked with desi ghee and hand-picked red chilies, considered a connoisseur's delight. The Safed Dal and Dal Maratha are delicious, but the Malai Ka Pulav and Chandi Murg Pulav are signature dishes that you simply cannot miss. End the meal with a heavenly, warm bowl of Gajar Halwa. With homemade ghee being the defining character of every dish, its nutty, rounded flavour will make this Charoli spread a royal feast to remember.
The new #CameoKitchenxCharoli experience will bring alive traditional techniques, regional flavours, and a host of indigenous ingredients.
