- Delivering operational solutions to restaurant kitchens rather than merely selling sweets, the company has eliminated inefficiencies and inconsistency challenges for its partners
Scandalous Foods, the country’s fastest-growing B2B innovator with a frozen, technology-led operating model, has registered a year-on-year revenue growth of 264% in CY25. The surge was driven by the brand’s technology-led operating model and strategic partnerships with mid-size and legacy restaurants across metro cities, with Mumbai and Bengaluru emerging as the strongest markets.
The company addressed critical operational challenges for restaurants, positioning itself as a backend operating partner for them to scale reliably without heavy customer acquisition costs. It includes reducing wastage, eliminating dependency on skilled confectioners, and improving margins by portion-controlled thawing, resulting in consistency, extended shelf life, and ease of execution.
In CY25, Scandalous Foods introduced multiple product formats tailored to diverse food service needs. These include single-serve portions for quick-service restaurants, bulk catering packs for banquets, and limited-time mithai sundaes for special occasions. With a frozen shelf-life of up to six months, these engineered formats function as a high-margin add-on, supporting improved unit economics.
“We stopped selling sweets and began selling operational peace of mind,” says Sanket S, Founder, Scandalous Foods. “Through our model and products, we solved the supply chain challenge for chefs. The ‘city heroes’ - mid-size and legacy restaurants - often have demand and credibility but lack consistency. Our preservative-free products can be frozen and offer the consistency they need to keep customers coming back. In essence, we are a food-grid infrastructure that builds the pathway for Indian desserts to travel the world.”
Looking ahead, Scandalous Foods plans to scale from 2,400 to 12,000 touchpoints in its next phase of growth. The brand’s key priorities include launching 55g modern Indian dessert formats, enhancing cold-chain logistics, and exploring international markets. The company positions its growth as part of a larger trend of formalizing traditional food categories through food-tech infrastructure, bringing assembly-line discipline to artisanal mithai production.
