- High Protein category is live with over 1 million high protein dishes across 1.4 lakh restaurants
- Launches No Fry, Low Cal and Gluten Free categories and Protein Minis for health-conscious users
Bengaluru, October 01, 2025: Swiggy (Swiggy Ltd, NSE: SWIGGY / BSE: 544285), India’s pioneering on-demand convenience platform, today announced that it has expanded its high protein category to 160+ cities. Users can choose from over 1 million high protein dish options across a network of 1.4 lakh restaurants. Swiggy also expanded its High Protein offering with the launch of new subcategories and the introduction of Protein Minis- bite-sized, protein-packed options designed to fit into modern lifestyles.
The new subcategories, Low Cal, No Fry and Gluten Free, have been thoughtfully designed to simplify the discovery of meals that cater to evolving dietary preferences. The Low Cal category is tailored for calorie-conscious users featuring food items under 400 kcal. With No Fry sub category, Swiggy app will offer a range of grilled, roasted, and steamed items for those who prefer healthier food options, while Gluten Free sub category highlights millet, quinoa, and other alternatives for those with specific dietary restrictions. These three new sub-categories within the High Protein category simplify the way users explore and discover food on the app by allowing them to quickly zero in on dishes that meet both their protein goals and lifestyle needs.
In addition to this, Swiggy has also introduced Protein Minis, a new range of bite-sized, high-protein meals and snacks designed for modern, on-the-go living. Each serving contains 5 to 15 grams of protein, making Protein Minis ideal for consumers who want a quick energy boost or prefer a lighter meal, without compromising on nutrition.
Commenting on the launch,Mr.said:“Our journey with the High Protein category over the last 3 months has given us a unique window into consumer behavior. We have received a great response to this category with not just users from metros, but also from emerging cities embracing protein-rich choices, whether it’s someone monitoring their fitness goals, a young professional looking for a quick fix, or families choosing balanced meals and dishes. Protein is no longer a niche demand but fast becoming mainstream in everyday eating. This is the reason why we are further deepening our protein range with the launch of 3 new subcategories-Low Cal, No Fry and Gluten Free, while also introducing Protein Minis for growing snacking occasions. Over the past months, successful collaborations with partners like McDonald’s, Dr. Diet, and Caterspoint have further validated this shift.”

Launched in July this year, Swiggy’s High Protein category was created in direct response to the rising consumer demand for protein-rich food. The platform saw 2.4 million+ customers transacting in the high protein category last month alone. Building on its early success, the addition of new subcategories and Protein Minis represents the next chapter in Swiggy’s commitment to making healthy eating not just a choice, but an easy and delightful habit.
