Gateway Brewing Co. Celebrates 8 years of Micro Brewing in Mumbai

Mumbai, 2022: Mumbai’s much-loved microbrewery Gateway Brewing Co. is celebrating 8 years of serving fresh craft beer to Mumbaikars. As a treat to all their patrons, Gateway Brewing has a special offer up for grabs for the brand’s anniversary.

A pioneer in introducing micro-breweries to Mumbai, Gateway Brewing Co. found its footing in the city with fresh craft brews that are made with premium local ingredients and traditional processes. The beer is not filtered or pasteurized and does not use any chemicals or artificial flavors. To date, the brewery has introduced up to over 100 flavors which have been widely accepted, and garnered love and respect of Mumbaikars. Their flagship brews are classics and loved by all since 2014. White Zen – Mumbai’s Original Wheat beer, is light & refreshing with hints of clove & banana; Doppelganger is a dark & malty beer with a luscious mouthfeel; New England IPA is an India Pale Ale that contains the highly aromatic hops, and for those who love ciders, they also have Side Car, a sweet & tarty drink made from the Kashmiri apples. To celebrate 8 successful years, Gateway Brewing Co. has come up with a limited-edition brew – Early Riser. Made with 100% Barley Malt and Earl Grey Tea, this one is the perfect brew to go with your brunch or can also be ordered from their website and at the retail store.

Over these 8 years, Gateway Brewing Co. has become a true gateway for anyone who wishes to explore and savor the world of beers. The team has experimented with unique flavours, classic styles, eccentric collaborations, which has put the brand on the forefront of the craft beer movement in the country. Gateway Brewing Co. has partnered with Woodside Inn over 4 consecutive years, for their beer and burger festival, a much-awaited F&B event in Mumbai. Similarly, the brand is known for its Darjeeling Beer created for The Bombay Canteen for 3 years. Mizu also sports a ‘Big in Japan’, a red hued beer made exclusively by Gateway using Umiboshi. While the pandemic may have slowed things down, it certainly did not discourage the team from staying focused on the brand’s vision – to serve fresh craft beers that brought people together.

In 2021, the Gateway opened its first retail store in Mumbai, making the brand accessible to a larger set of customers. With one taproom, one retail store and a range of beers in growlers and Kegs, the brand has plans to expand with 3 more stores and 2 taprooms, while consistently brewing and serving fresh beer.

Founded by Navin Mittal a.k.a IndianBeerGeek, a pioneer in beer making, he started off with blogging about his home brewed beers which was recognized and appreciated by beer lovers. Not only did this make a way for the people to understand beers by heart, but it also helped two beer lovers (Krishna Naik & Rahul Mehra), to come up with a humdinger of a start-up with this pioneer. Their only collective vision was to serve fresh craft beers that brought people together.
