Get a glimpse of the famous 'Thakurbarir Ranna' at this vegetarian festival at Esplanade

Speciality Bengali restaurant Esplanade opens its door to their first ever Niramish (Vegetarian) food festival. Contrary to popular belief the Bengali cuisine has umpteen vegetarian dishes that are celebrated in homes across Bengal on special occasions and festivals.

From Chalkumror Bora (white pumpkin fritter stuffed with a delicate poppy seed and ground coconut paste), Chanar Paturi (soft homemade cheese steamed, covered in a mustard paste and wrapped in Banana leaf), Mochar Dhokar Dalna (Banana florette dumpling cooked in a sublime gravy), Stuffed Pea Paratha, Chanar Pulao (Mini cottage cheese pulao) to select desserts like the Baked Rasgulla and the quintessential Mishti Doi, to name a few of the highlights of this festival.

As the name suggests, many of the dishes are a reference to the recipes of the famous Tagore family who were known for their 'Khaddo Bilashita'
