Goyal to resolve the Zomato Logout issue.

Piyush Goyal has asked the NRAI to enlist their complaints against the aggregator companies. They are told to write everything including the discounts that have affected their business. Goyal is planning to resolve the issue between NRAI and Zomato.

“The NRAI has received a communication from the ministry of commerce asking us to formally enlist our grievances with the aggregators, particularly those concerning deep discounts and data masking,” NRAI president Anurag Katriar.

A lot of restaurants across the country have started a logout campaign against Zomato, alleging it for deep discounts. The anger against Zomato rose after its gold membership programme which gives customers one-plus-one offers on food and liquor. The burden of discount is being handed over to restaurants. On top of that Zomato even extended it to home delivery.

“While we believe our programmes keep industry’s best interest in mind, the decision of participating in any Zomato product is completely optional. We work with our partners to determine if participating in an ongoing campaign, let alone a programme, makes commercial sense for them,” the zomato spokesperson said.

Piyush Goyal has assured that he will take strict actions against ecommerce companies if they were found guilty of violating the rules of India’s eCommerce policy.
