'Health ATMs' were installed recently at Charbagh railway station of Lucknow by the Indian Railways. These are walk-in health kiosks with unified medical devices for general check-ups, cardiology, pulmonary testing, neurology, gynaecology, emergency facilities and basic lab testing. It is also staffed with a medical attendant while offering privacy as well.
These are just 6 and 9-minute check-ups with an INR of 50 to 100 Rs, Amresh Thakur, state head of YOLO Health ATM told that around 50 to 60 people are using the amenity every day. The ATMs are a great help to the passengers. Any passenger with a health issue can opt for a check-up at the health ATM in a short period of time and can decide if it is worthwhile to continue the trip or not.
Soon YOLO will be installing these Health ATMs in Bareilly and Moradabad as well. On the other hand, the North-Eastern Railway has announced extending the primary health check-up amenity to other stations such as Gonda, Gorakhpur, Prayagraj and Basti.
The check-ups provided are body mass index (BMI), body fat, haemoglobin, metabolic age, basal metabolic rating, visceral fat, blood pressure, muscle mass, weight, height, temperature, muscle mass, oxygen saturation, pulse rate, bone mass and blood glucose.
