Nestled near Byasi in Tehri Garhwal, the newly unveiled haven, The Orchid Rishivan, welcomes guests amidst the scenic foothills of the Himalayas.
As I stepped in the reception adorned with a central green plantation, reminding me of traditional courtyards, I knew here is my abode for mindful indulgence in the holy city of Rishikesh.

Designed as a sanctuary for rejuvenation, the resort features 54 elegantly appointed rooms and cottages, each offering breathtaking views of the valley, forest, or river. Guests can choose from a range of thoughtfully crafted spaces, including Pushpa Vatika, Anand Kutir Cottages, Van Rekha Rooms, Van Drishti, and Prakruti Deluxe Rooms, all harmoniously blending natural textures with modern comforts.
Take a walk and see how a sense of calm flows through every corner of the property - from the open-air yoga shala and wellness spa to the Yagya Shala and Kund, designed for spiritual rituals and mindful practices.
Wellness seekers can immerse in holistic therapies, guided yoga sessions, and traditional healing treatments inspired by Ayurveda.
Dining
Gourmet experiences await at Fyoli, the resort’s multi-cuisine restaurant serving global and Himalayan-inspired delicacies.
However, my favourite corner is at Halaahal Bar & Lounge - a cosy inviting space to relax over favourite overlooking panoramic views. Here one can spend some 'ME' time reading as I did, picking up a copy of 'Idli, Orchid And Will Power', an engaging book authored by none other than Dr Vithal Indira Venkatesh Kamat, because of whom I was enjoying the space. A renowned environmentalist and hotelier, he fulfilled his dream of creating India's first environment friendly five star hotel - The Orchid.
