In a remarkable celebration of culinary artistry and skills, Honk welcomes Chef Katherine Chung to showcase her unparalleled expertise in Modern Hakka Chinese Cuisine. The cuisine, having originated from the Hakka people who migrated across China's vast landscapes, tells a tale of resilience, adaptation, and preservation. Prepare to unearth the nuances and discover the true essence of Hakka flavors as we delve into this culinary treasure from 9th-18 June.
Embark on a culinary odyssey at Honk, where the dining experience will showcase innovative Hakka Chinese delicacies from the far corners of the world where Chef Katherine’s family and friends are settled - Southern China, Hong Kong, Canada and Kolkata. Chef who was born in Amritsar has been living and breathing the cuisine from an early start. Having found her identity in food, Chef Katherine wishes to showcase the cuisine across the world and share that the cuisine is much more than Hakka Noodles and Chilli Chicken.
Prepare to be captivated by the depth and complexity of flavors as Chef Katherine unveils a menu with delicacies like Roast Crackling Pork, Whole Fish steamed with Ginger, Scallion and Sichuan Peppercorn and Steamed Prawns on Glass Noodles for non-vegetarians and Soy Braised Tofu Sliders and King Oyster Mushrooms with Rice Wine and more for vegetarians.
Each dish will showcase Chef Katherine's culinary finesse, using ingredients and spices like Fermented Black Beans, Chili Bean Paste, Mustard Tubers, Sand Ginger, her own homemade Rice Wine where she will be combining authenticity with innovative twists that are sure to delight even the most discerning palates.
