A Christmas Wrapped in Pune’s Culture: Paithani-Adorned Tree & Wadas-Inspired Gingerbread House Light Up The Westin Pune Koregaon Park

Pune’s festive season reached dazzling new heights as The Westin Pune Koregaon Park hosted its much-anticipated Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, turning the hotel into a shimmering celebration of heritage, glamour, and holiday magic. The evening sparkled with the unveiling of a massive Christmas Tree adorned with a handwoven Paithani border and saree, bringing alive Pune’s traditional weaving artistry in a spectacular festive avatar. Standing tall in the lobby is also a giant walk-in Gingerbread House designed as a Wada, paying homage to the city’s architectural legacy and offering children a space to explore, play and revel in Christmas cheer.

The celebrations began with a sumptuous high tea, where families and guests savoured seasonal delights and experienced the warm hospitality that The Westin Pune Koregaon Park is known for. The air soon filled with the spirit of the season as students from Bishops Co-ed School Kalyani Nagar, in their first-ever association with the hotel, enchanted the crowd with soulful carols, bringing nostalgia, joy, and the true essence of Christmas to life.

Adding a playful, contemporary twist to tradition, a Female Santa Claus made her much-awaited entrance, spreading cheer, delight, and creating unforgettable photo moments for guests of all ages. The event was complete with engaging kids activities, such as gingerbread house making, cookie decoration, DIY christmas decor and more, keeping the little ones creatively entertained. A curated spread of delicious pass-around bites paired perfectly with live counters and beverages including boba teas, hot chocolate and mulled wine added the warmth and flavour to the festivities. 

The celebration also marked a meaningful collaboration with Phoenix Marketcity, Viman Nagar and Hamleys, who added to smiles on the kids faces with a thoughtful gift that added to the goodie bag for children along with Christmas goodies like chocolate &  ginger cookie, stollen, crochet toys and a exclusively curated kids activity passport - that added to the smiles of all our little guests.
