Krabi, Thailand – Phulay Bay, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, the ultra-luxurious seafront sanctuary, is transforming the gastronomy and mixology scene in Southern Thailand’s Krabi province, as it unveils two newly-reimagined venues: Sri Trang, the authentic yet refined Thai restaurant, and Pirom Bar, an all-new whiskey and gin bar where guests can embrace the joy of connection and conversation, overlooking the Andaman Sea.
Sri Trang: Rediscovering Krabi’s Culinary Roots
Sri Trang, the resort’s signature Thai restaurant, will be relaunched on October 1st, 2025, following a meticulous refurbishment that has enhanced its interior design with a sophisticated new concept that blends contemporary elegance and bespoke furniture with a warm, homely ambiance.
Chef Aong, Phulay Bay’s Thai culinary maestro, has also revealed a new Southern Thai menu inspired by the bounty of nature and memories from her childhood. Distinct from other parts of the kingdom, Krabi’s cuisine highlights the fresh produce of this tropical, coastal province, such as coconuts, shrimp paste, palm sugar, fragrant herbs, and of course, sustainably sourced seafood from the pure waters of the Andaman. Inspired by these indigenous ingredients, Chef Aong has lovingly crafted a new seasonal menu of heartfelt local recipes rarely found anywhere else in Thailand.
Pirom Bar: An Evocative Contrast of Light and Dark
Then on October 15th, Phulay Bay invites travelers to step into a world of mesmerizing mixology at Pirom Bar, the intimate new lounge that sets the stage for sunset cocktails and sophisticated evenings. Nestled on the 2nd floor, between Sri Trang and Jampoon, this atmospheric venue will capture the changing phases
of the day, from light to dark, with a curated menu of gin and whiskey creations, handcrafted cocktails, and premium Champagnes.
Pirom Bar takes its name from the Thai word for “supreme joy” or “pleasure,” an emotion that will overcome guests as their evenings unfold. Following a day of discovery in Southern Thailand, explorers can come together and watch the setting sun light up the sky and sea, reflect on their adventures and relax with artistic drinks, infused with local herbs and spices.
Four Hands Dinner with Chef Syrco Bakker
Having successfully elevated its epicurean offerings, Phulay Bay will set the stage for an evening of exceptional gastronomy on this November 26. Two Michelin-rated culinary experts – Christian Herrgesell, the resort’s acclaimed executive chef, and Syrco Bakker, the renowned founder of Syrco BASÈ fine dining venue in Bali – will co-host a one-of-a-kind Four Hands Dinner. Staged at Lae Lay, the resort’s stunning seafood restaurant, this exclusive evening will highlight Chef Syrco’s Dutch-Indonesian roots and rare ingredients with a sensational six-course menu. Further details will be announced in due course, so stay tuned!
“Southern Thailand is one of the world’s great culinary destinations – a vibrant melting pot where cultures converge and fresh produce thrives. We are delighted to invite our discerning clientele to savor the authentic flavors of Krabi and its surrounding provinces with reimagined dining experiences at Sri Trang, and innovative mixology at Pirom Bar. Our new venues will further underscore Phulay Bay’s vision of creating guest journeys that stimulate the senses and evoke the essence of this idyllic, intriguing region,” said Mr. Vidya Sagar, the resort’s General Manager.
