A Franco-American Culinary Dialogue Arrives in Mumbai

MUMBAI, June 2025: Atelier House Hospitality, in partnership with Graviss Hospitality, announces the opening of SoBo 20, an ambitious Franco-American restaurant concept at the InterContinental Marine Drive. Following the critical success of Inja, their modern Indian Japanese restaurant, the hospitality group brings its signature innovation to a new cultural intersection.

Positioned along Mumbai's storied Marine Drive, SoBo 20 explores the unexpected harmonies between French culinary tradition and the bold flavours of the American South. More than a fusion concept, the restaurant presents a thoughtful dialogue between two distinct culinary languages, interpreted through Mumbai's cosmopolitan lens.

The collaboration marks a strategic evolution for the InterContinental Marine Drive. The interiors, conceived by Essajees Atelier, draw from multiple visual vocabularies. Art Deco geometry meets vintage Americana, while Mumbai's coastal energy provides the underlying rhythm. The design creates an atmosphere that shifts organically from day to night, from intimate dinners to spirited gatherings.

The culinary program reflects this cross-cultural philosophy with nuance and creativity. Executive Chef Sudeep Kashikar reinterprets French classics through the prism of American comfort, while Southern traditions are elevated through refined technique. Mumbai's coastal influences appear as unexpected grace notes throughout the menu, creating dishes that feel both intellectually engaging and deeply satisfying.

The beverage program extends this cultural conversation, with a wine list that travels between Bordeaux and Napa, cocktails that reference both Parisian cafés and New Orleans jazz clubs and a spirits selection that celebrates craft traditions from both continents, crafted by acclaimed Atelier House mixologist Supradeep Dey.

Beyond cuisine, SoBo 20 positions itself as a cultural salon. A space where food, music, design and conversation create a larger narrative about contemporary dining. The carefully curated soundtrack, the considered service style and the overall ambiance work in concert to create an experience that transcends the merely culinary.

SoBo 20 opens to the public June 25th, serving lunch from 12:00 PM to 3:30 PM and dinner from 7:00 PM to 11:30 PM, all days of the week.
