Pune, June 2025 – Demonstrating its commitment to social responsibility and community engagement, Orchid Hotels, Pune participated in this year’s Rath Yatra procession that commenced from Khadki, Pune. As part of the initiative, a team of 15 employees joined the vibrant city procession, distributing pocket-sized Bhagavad Gita booklets along with eco-friendly seed paper bookmarks to people along the route, inspiring thousands to nurture their inner and outer worlds.
Each bookmark carried a simple yet impactful message—on the front, it invited people to “Plant this Tulsi sapling as an act of devotion,” while the reverse featured a line inspired by Bhagavad Gita 3.14: “All living beings are sustained by food, which comes from nature’s cycle. Let your actions sustain life,” encouraging a reflection on the connection between mindful living and ecological balance.
This small but thoughtful gesture encouraged citizens to reflect on sustainable living, responsible choices, and cultural values.
“We wanted our participation in the Rath Yatra to go beyond presence—it was about purpose. By sharing meaningful literature with a sustainable touch, we hoped to leave a lasting impact,”
Soumitra Kundu, Deputy General Manager, Orchid Hotels Pune
The initiative formed part of Orchid Hotels’ broader CSR program, which emphasizes responsible hospitality, green practices, and giving back to the communities where the brand operates.
