Meen by Chef Suresh Pillai launches at The Artiste Kochi, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, bringing Kerala’s coastal spirit into a calm, beautifully detailed space. The restaurant blends tradition with artistry: laterite stone walls, handcrafted tiles, warm textures, and a fisherman mural that sets the tone for a dining room rooted in memory yet shaped for today. A new highlight also anchors the experience: Kerala’s first mall-based outdoor open-air setup, offering a relaxed alfresco setting.

The food follows the same philosophy. The menu draws from Kerala’s beloved home-style dishes, interpreted with precision and restraint. Guests can expect clean flavors, slow cooking, and an honest respect for regional produce. Signatures include Kakka Irachi Ularthiyathu, stir-fried clams in local masalas; Kera Kudampuliyittu Vattichathu, a tangy tuna curry enriched with kudampuli; and the quintessential Karimeen and Avoli Pollichathu, wrapped in banana leaf and roasted to lock in aroma and spice. The Ashtamudi Meen Curry nods to Kollam’s fishermen and their boat-style preparations, while Chemmeen Manga Curry brings together prawns, raw mango, and coconut milk in a comforting Alleppey classic. Joining the line-up are Chef Pillai’s favorites: Fish Nirvana, Valanpuli Chicken Wings, and Chemmeen Palperattu. Kerala porotta, appam, puttu, and rice complete the experience.
Desserts stay rooted in nostalgia, with Ada Pradhaman and a Palada Crème Brûlée. The drinks program adds another dimension with Kerala-inspired creations: Thammanam Vat, a crisp gin-vodka blend with a refreshing finish; Patta Mattanchery, a vodka and white rum twist with subtle coastal notes; Gin Jathika, fragrant with warm nutmeg; Kerala Blasters, a six-spirit powerhouse; and Kummattikka, a playful vodka-based sip with tropical sweetness.

Chef Suresh Pillai says, “Meen is a piece of Kerala I want people to feel, not just taste. These dishes carry the stories we grew up with: simple flavors, honest cooking, and the warmth of home.”
Ayan Halder, Director of Operations, says: “An authentic Kerala culinary experience was the one missing piece in this neighbourhood. , We wanted to build a space that feels familiar to residents while giving the visitors from across India and the world a true sense of the region’s coastal flavors. Meen strikes that balance with a menu rooted in tradition, thoughtful pricing, and an elevated setting that makes the cuisine feel both accessible and special.”
