Navratri, one of India’s most vibrant and auspicious festivals, is a celebration of the triumph of good over evil, of devotion and joy. Observed over nine nights, it is marked by fasting, prayer and festivities, with food playing a central role in bringing people together. At Anise, the all-day dining restaurant at Taj Coromandel, Chennai, guests are invited to experience a thoughtfully curated Navratri special menu from 22nd September to 2nd October, 2025.
The feast begins with starters like Paneer Tikka, cottage cheese marinated with yogurt and spices, and Sabudana Tikki, a delightful patty of sago pearls, shallow-fried to perfection. The main course presents a wholesome spread featuring Singada Paneer Tamatar, a dish of water chestnut, cottage cheese and tomato; the sweet and tangy Khatta Meetha Kumra made with pumpkin; the simple yet comforting Aloo Jeera Sendha Namak, potato and jeera infused with pink salt; and the indulgent Kele Ka Kofta Curry, plantain dumplings simmered in a cashew-tomato gravy. To accompany these flavours is the traditional Kuttu Ki Roti, made with buckwheat flour.
No festive meal is complete without desserts, and the spread concludes on a sweet note with the saffron-infused Kesar Sandesh and the creamy Basundi, enriched with nuts and saffron.
This Navratri, celebrate the spirit of tradition and devotion with a culinary experience that captures the essence of the season at Anise, Taj Coromandel, Chennai.
