Trivandrum: Hyatt Regency Trivandrum’s award-winning Pan-Asian restaurant, The Oriental Kitchen, is set to host a unique culinary celebration titled ‘Dimsum’Thing’, from May 23 to June 1, 2025. This 10-day festival is dedicated to showcasing the artistry and variety of handcrafted dim sums, bringing together traditional recipes and modern interpretations in a vibrant dining experience.
Fresh off winning the NDTV Food Award 2025 for Best Chinese Casual Dining Restaurant, The Oriental Kitchen continues to push boundaries with this specially curated dim sum menu featuring over 10 varieties, all steamed and naturally coloured using vegetable-based ingredients, ensuring a clean, health-conscious approach to indulgent dining.
The menu includes a wide array of options such as Chicken Corn Sumai, Spicy Prawn Dim sum, Lamb Gyoza, Chilean Seabass Dim sum, Corn and Water Chestnut Dumpling, Smoked Spinach Dim sum, and a dessert favourite – the Custard Chocolate Bao. The dim sums are crafted with soft textures and balanced flavours, making them ideal for families and children alike.
“Dimsum’Thing is more than just a food festival – it’s an invitation to experience the comfort, craft, and creativity that goes into every steamed dumpling,” said the Executive Chef, Senthil Kumar of Hyatt Regency Trivandrum. “We’ve focused on clean ingredients, natural colours, and bold flavours to create something memorable for all age groups,” he added.
Served in a contemporary Asian setting, the festival promises a feast for both the eyes and the palate, with thoughtfully plated dim sums that celebrate colour, texture, and tradition. Guests are invited to enjoy the menu during regular lunch and dinner hours throughout the festival.
