Tree Lighting Ceremony at ICJ with Influencers

Jaipur, December 2025: InterContinental Jaipur Tonk Road is set to welcome the festive season with an extraordinary Tree Lighting Ceremony on 10th December 2025 at 6:00 PM, unveiling a distinctive Christmas installation crafted entirely from reclaimed heritage wood. The celebration will be followed by an exclusive GM’s Table with influencers at House of Han, highlighting the hotel’s commitment to community, craftsmanship, and conscious luxury.

This year’s tree represents a powerful narrative of reinvention and meaningful design. After the hotel’s recent restoration, the General Manager, Mr. Stephen D’souza, championed a unique approach repurposing old teak and rosewood flooring that once adorned the hotel’s suites.

Every plank, marked by decades of footsteps, stories, and time-worn details, was respectfully preserved and transformed into a twelve-foot geometric installation that now graces the atrium.

Over three weeks, the engineering and housekeeping teams collaborated to bring the concept to life. The reclaimed planks were hand-sorted to showcase their natural aging, scratches, softened corners, and grain variations that reflect the hotel's history. Lightly sanded and left unpainted, the structure now glows under warm lighting, celebrating both the artistry and
heritage embedded within the wood.

“This installation is a reminder that luxury is most meaningful when it carries purpose. By creating our Christmas tree from reclaimed wood, we are honouring our legacy while embracing sustainability in a tangible way. Supporting Project Atmanirbhar as part of this celebration further strengthens that narrative because the festive spirit is not only about illumination, but about empowering communities and giving back. Together, these efforts reflect the values we stand for: responsibility, creativity, and heartfelt hospitality.”

Stephen D’souza, the General Manager

The installation stands as a symbol of InterContinental Jaipur’s focus on mindful luxury, environmental responsibility, and community-led impact.

CSR Association
As part of its CSR initiative, InterContinental Jaipur Tonk Road has partnered with NGO Naya Sawera’s Project Atmanirbhar, a dedicated establishment to empowering financially vulnerable women through skill-building and livelihood opportunities. Established in 2023, the initiative trains women in tailoring and handcrafted product creation, producing sustainable items such

as sling bags, tote bags, pouches, laptop sleeves, kurtis, and utility accessories, all made using donated pure cotton fabric. The project follows a unique profit-sharing model where earnings are divided equally between the women artisans, children in shelter homes, and the venture’s growth. To date, Project Atmanirbhar has supported more than 22 families, helping women achieve financial independence and long-term stability. During the Tree Lighting event, guests will also be able to purchase handcrafted products, directly contributing to the empowerment of these women and the expansion of the initiative.
