Maharashtra - Celebrating the rich linguistic and cultural heritage of Maharashtra, Kamat Hotels India Ltd. (KHIL) is set to host Marathi Bhasha Diwas across their hotels in the state. The week-long festivities, starting February 21 to February 28, will feature immersive experiences, traditional activities, and gastronomic delights—bringing to life the essence of 'मराठी अस्मिता' and the deep-rooted pride of Maharashtrians.
Across all properties, the celebrations will feature traditional Maharashtrian décor with torans, rangoli, and cultural elements, staff dressed in authentic Maharashtrian attire, and a curated Maharashtrian menu featuring signature dishes like Puran Poli, Misal Pav, and Solkadhi. Guests will be welcomed with Namaskar greetings, Aarti, Tika, and traditional welcome drinks like Kokum Sarbat or Solkadhi, served by a hostess in a Nauvari Saree, ensuring an authentic experience. Additionally, Til Gud Ladoo will be offered daily in the lobby as a sweet gesture to engage guests with Maharashtra’s culinary traditions. In Mumbai, The Orchid Hotel, set up the stage with a grand Arc at the entrance, live flute performances, and folk-inspired décor, along with energizing Lezim performances every 2 hours for the guests to enjoy the Marathmola tradition, creating an ambiance reminiscent of Maharashtra’s vibrant traditions. They are offering a specially curated Maharashtrian Menu starting from Varan Bhaat Toop, Bharleli Waangi, Karlyachi Bhaji, Shepu chi Bhaaji, to Misal, Ukdiche Modak and many more. Ira by Orchid in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and at Spice Oasis in Mumbai will further enhance the cultural engagement with Konkani and Maharashtrian-themed entrances, folk performances, and refreshing traditional beverages like Chhas.
