- An exclusive evening where 30 in-house chefs, 60 dishes, and a shared love for conscious dining come together under one roof
Gurgaon, July 2025: Karma Lakelands, India’s leading eco-resort known for its immersive, community-driven experiences, proudly hosted the Klub Karma Chef’s Table Showdown, an exclusive culinary showcase celebrating creativity, innovation, and conscious dining. This unique evening brought together Karma’s in-house chefs for a vibrant face-off that spotlighted not just talent, but the deeper stories behind each dish. More than a traditional tasting, the Chef’s Table transformed food into an experience where chefs became storytellers, plates became canvases, and every bite sparked connection.
Hosted at Klub Karma, the event featured 30 chefs presenting two signature creations each , one vegetarian and one non-vegetarian , culminating in a striking array of 60 dishes. These were paired with 14 handcrafted mocktails, adding refreshing, imaginative flair to the culinary journey. Guests were taken through a thoughtfully curated experience that began with an opening note, followed by a panel discussion, an interactive Q&A with the chefs, and the tasting showcase. Awards were announced later in the evening to celebrate standout creativity and craftsmanship.
Setting the tone for the night was a panel discussion focused on evolving culinary trends, sustainability in kitchens, and the growing relevance of conscious dining. This was followed by a live session where members engaged directly with the chefs exploring their inspirations, philosophies, and creative processes.
The evening was made even more special with an esteemed jury comprising Bhaskar Menon, Founder of Mala-Akbari; Babu Nagarajan, Director of Culinary Studies at the Indian School of Hospitality; Anuraag Narsingani, Director of Culinary at JW Marriott, New Delhi Aerocity; Birjesh Kumar, Executive Chef at Le Meridien, Gurgaon; and Tarun Arora, Executive Sous Chef at Pullman Novotel, New Delhi Aerocity. The showcase was curated by Ravinder Kumar, Executive Chef at Karma Lakelands, and moderated by Akash Roy Saigal, General Manager of Karma Lakelands.
Reflecting on the evening, Akash Roy Saigal, General Manager, Karma Lakelands, said, “The Chef’s Table Showdown was not just an event , it was a celebration of the people, principles, and passion that define Karma’s culinary spirit. It brought our chefs to the forefront, giving them a platform to create, express, and connect directly with our members. For us, it was a powerful reminder that food has the ability to connect not just ingredients on a plate, but ideas, values, and communities. What made this evening truly special was how deeply personal it felt for our chefs, our guests, and for Karma.”
The Klub Karma Chef’s Table Showdown was more than just a culinary competition, it was a powerful reflection of Karma Lakelands’ people-first philosophy and its ongoing investment in nurturing internal talent. By placing its own chefs at the heart of the experience, the event highlighted the resort’s deep commitment to employee engagement, collaboration, and collective pride. It served as a reminder that when creativity, connection, and community converge, extraordinary things can unfold.
