Karma Lakelands Turns Waste into Art at Its Eighth Annual Art Symposium

• The event brings together artists to create artworks from reclaimed materials, inspired by wellness and responsible living, reflecting the balance between human well-being and nature.

New Delhi, 6th February 2026: Karma Lakelands, a 270-acre eco-resort in Gurugram, successfully concluded the eighth edition of its Annual Art Symposium, held from 21 to 26 January, showcasing how creativity and sustainability can converge. This year, artists transformed in-house waste and discarded materials into large-scale sculptures, under the theme Wellness and Responsible Living.

This year's Art Symposium brought together four sculptors and one painter, all working with scrap material sourced entirely from the resort. Each sculptor created permanent installations using reclaimed metal, while the painter interpreted the theme on canvas. Through their work, the artists explored the interplay between human well-being and nature, demonstrating how responsible design and creative expression can promote environmental awareness.

The Symposium reflects Karma Lakelands’ ongoing engagement with sustainability as a creative practice. By repurposing the resort’s waste as permanent artworks, the initiative positions art as both a medium of expression and a tool for environmental and social reflection. It brings together material experimentation, conscious design and storytelling to create immersive works that encourage responsible living, sensory awareness and a deeper dialogue between nature, wellness and artistic practice.

The streamlined format of the event allowed each artist to focus on detailed, thought-provoking pieces, while visitors gained a deeper understanding of the creative process, material use, and the possibilities of recycling.

The finished sculptures and paintings were unveiled during Karma Lakelands’ Republic Day event, offering guests a unique opportunity to engage with art that merges sustainability, wellness and creativity. The artworks now form part of the resort’s permanent collection, reinforcing Karma Lakelands’ ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship and to integrating responsible design into everyday experiences.
