Start your Bhutanese experience with Hoentay, delicate buckwheat dumplings from the Haa Valley, available in vegetarian (Ema Datshi Hoentay) and chicken (Jasha Hoentay) variations, accompanied by Bhutan's iconic chilli relish, ezay.
The mains feature the legendary Shamu Datshi, cheese and shiitake mushroom-rich stew, and Jasha Paa, fiery chicken curry served with classic accompaniments of khur-le (buckwheat pancakes), red rice, and kewa datshi. Seafood enthusiasts can savour light, aromatic Pan-Seared Himalayan Trout, while Puta with Pulled Lamb – the buckwheat noodles tossed with tender lamb – captures the rustic spirit of the Bumthang Valley.
The dessert unveils an unexpected indulgence, the Doma Tart, a delightful fusion of Bhutanese tradition and seasonal freshness. These mini cream tarts feature the ubiquitous areca nut, or Doma, topped with fresh fruits.
