Bangalore, 17th December 2025: Moxy Bengaluru Airport Prestige Tech Cloud ushered this festive season with a creative spin, unveiling a one-of-a-kind Christmas tree crafted entirely from hand-folded origami during its annual Tree Lighting Ceremony held on 12th December 2025. In collaboration with Makkala Dhama, a residential development center run by Sparsha Trust that provides care, protection, education, and holistic support to young girls. The installation blends creativity, community, and Moxy’s signature playful spirit.
At the center of the celebration stands a striking Christmas tree at 13 feet tall composed of 660 planes, each one designed and crafted by young girls residing at Makkala Dhama, alongside the Moxy team. The airplane motif pays homage to the hotel’s airport location and reflects Moxy’s bold and adventurous personality. By blending play with purpose, the initiative not only sparks festive joy but also provides a meaningful platform for the girls to showcase their creativity and talent.
Reinforcing Moxy’s commitment to sustainability, all origami pieces were made using recycled paper. In a thoughtful gesture, the hotel will share these whimsical paper airplanes as special departure gifts with guests visiting after the New Year- ensuring the spirit of joy continues well beyond the season.
The Origami Christmas Tree now stands proudly in the lobby of Moxy Bengaluru Airport, symbolizing togetherness, responsible celebration, and the magic that unfolds when creativity takes flight. Influencers, and guests joined the celebration, capturing and sharing the festive installation across platforms to amplify the message of meaningful, community-driven festivity.
“Moxy has always been about creating memorable, fun, and uplifting experiences for our community,” said Anuradha Venkatachalam, Hotel Captain at Moxy Bengaluru Airport Prestige Tech Cloud. “This year’s origami tree is a beautiful reflection of what we stand for- playfulness, purpose, and people. The passion and joy the girls from Makkala Dhama put into every origami plane made this year’s tree lighting incredibly special”.
This installation reinforces Moxy Bengaluru’s ethos of creativity and conscious celebration. Through partnerships that empower local communities and initiatives that inspire sustainable habits, the hotel continues to reimagine festive traditions with purpose and flair.
