Bengaluru, India 28th November 2025: Renaissance Bengaluru Race Course Hotel proudly introduces its revamped Lobby and R Bar re-designed through layered renaissance influences, metallic detailing, and blue accents that echo classical palettes. The revival work, which drew an excellent parallel between races and derby, not only included these aspects but also incorporated the art and vibrant colours of Karnataka, combining, craftsmanship and contemporary luxury in a way that is both refreshing and distinctly Renaissance.

The refurbished lobby decor warmly grasps the guests’ attention with the visual pattern derived from the equestrian sports world. The bright colors of the jerseys of jockeys, the graphical prettiness of the stripes on the socks and the energetic nature of the racetrack come together to create the atmosphere. The stripes delving through the lobby floor covering, evoke the feeling of movement at the point of entry, the rug-style artwork draws inspiration from the renowned handmade rug tradition of Navalgund, a village in Karnataka celebrated for its artisan-crafted rugs. Reflecting the essence of these traditional creations, the piece embodies the warmth of local craftsmanship and the rich heritage of Karnataka’s textile artistry. The blue shades, taken from the brand’s signature palette, pair with silver-grey to give the area an elegant, sophisticated character.

The metal detailing of the reception counter, navigators' table and wall panels draw inspiration from jockey gear such as the buckles, straps and the serene beauty of well-crafted equipment. Anti-grass finishes add a fresh, inviting texture across key areas. The story of the racecourse continues through the leather elements incorporated into the sofas, cushions and armchairs with a subtle, detailing.

By deeply linking to local artistry, the lobby features design elements drawn from Chennapatna toys, colourful, lacquered and full of character. The communal table stands on legs resembling Chennapatna forms, painted in bright red, orange and blue. Decorative pieces placed throughout the area express the handcrafted charm of Karnataka’s traditional craft. These details come together to create a space full of color, culture and movement.

Right over the entrance, a remarkable origami-inspired lighting installation, the piece is natural, softly lit and intricately crafted, reminiscent of the reins used by polo riders and jockeys. This installation forms the centerpiece of the design narrative.

The R Bar, situated a few steps from the Lobby, emerges as a warm, social space with a contemporary twist. Its hemispherical dome, said to be inspired by a polo helmet, immediately draws the eye. Soft globes suspended within the dome and a beautifully illuminated back bar create an inviting glow suitable for relaxed afternoons or lively evenings. R Bar features a thoughtful mix of lounge seating, fixed booths and alfresco spots, accommodating up to 48 guests, including outdoor seating. The bar now offers a collection of mocktails inspired by the races around the world, classic cocktails as well as a range inspired by the city, besides craft beer and a wide selection of wines. The food menu has been reimagined to showcase a thoughtfully curated selection of dishes that embody a worldly, modern sophistication. Highlights include the Crab Brûlée, Lamb Pie, Confit Chicken, Finger and Bute rod Sandwiches, each crafted with refined technique and global inspiration. Complementing these is an artisanal grazing board and a beautifully renewed dessert selection, both of which signal a complete and considered transformation of the culinary offering.
